La Vera Vite stands for the True Vine which is what Jesus called himself in John 15. He is the vine, we are the branches,
the Father is the vinedresser and abiding in Jesus and him in you is the key to bearing fruit.
We are affiliated with Torchbearers International, but most Torchbearer Bible schools are not accredited. It is possible, however, that your college or university may award credit or credit hours for your time as a student at one of our centers. Please talk to both your college/university as well as the center you wish to attend to find out what the possibilities are.

The Romania Torchbearer Center, Purtătorii de Făclie (PdF), is sponsoring La Vera Vite Bible school in Italy and helping us in our first months and years to get established. The Romanian center has been active and fruitful for almost 30 years with camps, conferences, and a Bible school. They bring rich experience and oversight to help create this new school. Several of the Italian fall school staff will be experienced workers on loan from the Romanian center. Italy and Romania enjoy a rich natural relationship that facilitates our partnership.
The Fall 2026 Bible School will be held in San Zeno di Montagna, in the province of Verona, overlooking Lake Garda in Northern Italy.
Our residential setting provides comfortable accommodations, a kitchen, spaces for study and teaching, and opportunities for community life and outdoor activities.
We hope the setting will provide an ideal environment to spend time with God, study His Word, share life in Christian community, and enjoy the beauty and culture of the surrounding area.
Detailed arrival information will be provided directly to students before the beginning of the program.
About the Bible School
Our program will be spent in a classroom setting. Our teachers are engaged in different kinds of ministry in international settings and in Italy. They will offer rich insights into Christian living and the nuts and bolts of Christian ministry. The curriculum is intended to help engage the Scriptures to better understand practically the message of the indwelling risen life of Christ both on a personal and ministry level. Many teachers will do an in-depth study on a book or portion of the Bible (e.g. Genesis, the Gospel of Mark, Paul’s letter to the Galatians). Others will lead a study on a Christian theme (e.g. Christian formation, Christ through the Old Testament, Missions, etc.).
Students come from all over the world and have in common a hunger to develop their relationship with Jesus and betterknow and understand his Word. Although lectures and student activities will be conducted in English, Italian students who are interested in living in an English-speaking environment are especially encouraged to apply. Translation will be made available if necessary. The majority of student ages range from 18-24, but it’s not unusual to have older students as well.
We encourage students 18-25 years old to apply, but older students are welcome to apply recognizing that the accommodations will be in a dorm-like environment. Married couples may be accepted, but should contact us before applying.
Yes! Many students attend multiple terms (fall, winter, or spring) in the same year, often at different sites. Torchbearers.org offers the options at other Torchbearers centers around the world.
The cost for room, board, tuition and travel to and from Verona and for authorized school activies is €3960. This covers all school-sponsored expenses including travel to the school from the airport. Travel to and from Italy is not included and must be covered by each student. Students may want to bring extra money for optional experiences such as shopping,touring, restaurants, etc.
Included in tuition: housing, all meals, laundry, internet services, required study materials and books, group trips and experiences, travel to and from Verona to the school site.
Not included in tuition: airfare, passport and visa expenses, vaccinations, health and accident insurance, postage and phone calls, local travel and experiences in your free time, personal spending money (snacks, medications, toiletries, souvenirs, etc. )
Financial assistance is being offered as it becomes available, however, we highly encourage students to seek sponsorship from their local church, family, or wider community. Italian tuition is subsidized to encourage their presence and to build up the Italian church.
No, however, we encourage you to apply early. Applications are accepted until student accommodations are full.
Inside the Bible School
Students should plan to arrive in Verona on Sunday, September 27. Besides the airport in Verona, both Milano/Bergamo(BGY) and Venice Marco Polo airports are about an hour and forty-five minute train ride from the Verona train station. The last day of school will be Friday, December 11.
All students are expected to arrive on time and stay for the entire school session until the final day of class.
Any exceptions require special advanced permission.
Temperatures range from 60–75°F (16–24°C) in late September to 30–45°F (1–7°C) in mid-December. While autumn weather starts out moderate, students should expect steadily colder temperatures and frequent rain, particularly in November and December.
Each week, students will have classes in the morning and some evenings. Afternoons are reserved for personal study, recreation, exploration into the local community, school ministry outreach, etc. Students will also meet regularly throughout the week in smaller family groups, and gather as a group for regular worship and devotions. On Saturdays, we will organize outings for students. On Sundays students will have an opportunity to visit a local church but also have an opportunity to rest on the weekend.
Developing ministry skills and doing outreach is a value of La Vera Vite and is built into the curriculum. All students will take ten days of school to do evangelism and other activities in one of several local churches and ministry centers in northern Italy. Students will thus have a time to get close to believing Italians, make friends, serve together, and discover the spiritual needs of Italy first-hand as well as grow to understand their strengths and skills.
During the school period, many weekends will be spent together with other students as part of our program. A typical 90 day tourist visa limits time for travel before and after school for travel throughout Europe, but each student is responsible for understanding travel limitations and visa requirements. Having said that, we can help plan trips through Italy for student groups for after school ends.
Yes. Each student will be assigned roommates of the same gender.
No. The use of alcoholic beverages, drugs, and/or tobacco is NOT permitted for the duration of the Bible School. The reasons for this include cultural sensitivity and a commitment to healthy communal living.
No, we cannot accommodate pets.
Accommodations can possibly be made for family or friends to visit for a limited time based on the school schedule. Arrangements should be made with the La Vera Vite staff. Guests will be responsible for all of their food and lodging expenses.
