What to expect from the full program
Growing Close to Christ Together
This fall Bible school is designed to move students towards an understanding of the indwelling life of Jesus Christ through the study and application of God’s Word. Our desire is not only to know Who He is, but also to know the reality of His life in us. “…For in Him all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete…” Colossians 2:9-10a
Students spend over twelve hours in class per week learning about Christ Who lives in them. Resident teachers and weekly guest speakers teach in English from both the Old and New Testaments. Students will have other assignments and ample free time to study and meet together to discuss important themes regarding the Christ-indwelt life.
Warm Fellowship in an International Community
La Vera Vite, an affiliate of Torchbearers Fellowship, invites students from diverse backgrounds to connect with fellow students who, like you, are eager to engage with others and share a passion for the Lord.
The application of our teachings is best realized within a community context. We will share our stories and experiences and deepen our connections through both large and small group activities, playing in the recreational spaces, and sharing the scenic trails. The week includes practical work assignments. Weekends feature hosting Italian visitors or exploring various historical Italian sites.
Catching a Vision of Spiritually Lost Italy
Beyond all the religious symbols of churches and crucifixes lies a land of secularized disillusioned Italians. While you are here you will both learn about Italy’s role in church history, but also grow to realize the current spiritual situation in this land where few people today know the true gospel.
You will also be challenged by seeing Italy from a church context. Italian leaders and fellow students will reach out in ministries shoulder-to-shoulder. You will become better aware of your gifts and the opportunities and obstacles to advancing the gospel in Italy.
